STORE MORE.
The STORE MORE project aims to provide equipment to help community gardens, CSA’s, and other organisations or individuals who grow local produce to preserve and package their produce for a longer shelf life. The project will offer the use of professional food processing equipment with an emphasis on storage without refrigeration in keeping with our policy on reducing carbon emmissions. By this we mean drying, bottling, tinning, pressing, smoking, salting, pickling, brining, jamming, juicing etc.
The project will improve the longevity of the local produce grown it the surrounding area. It will also help raise the standards of food hygene and address health issues relating to diet. The project also aims to reduce carbon emissions by replacing refrigeration with carbon neutral storage alternatives and by encouraging and facilitating growers to store summer crops that otherwise would be imported produce out of season.
STORE MORE is without prejudice and is open to everyone including individuals, groups, businesses or ‘other’ regardless of their intentions or geography.
